The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is proud to announce the 2013 winners of the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival Poster Contest.
This year’s Grand Prize winner is Stormi O’Keefe, a third grade student from John Newbery Elementary School in Wenatchee.
The festival staff had plenty to choose from in selecting this year’s winner with over 700 posters submitted by grade schools in North Central Washington. The posters focused on this year’s theme “Spirit of the Salmon” and were judged on the basis of creativity, artwork and use of the festival theme.
Ms. O’Keefe’s poster will the “O-FISH-al” festival publicity poster and will be featured in announcements for the 23rd Wenatchee River Salmon Festival which is distributed throughout the region promoting the festival.
Congratulations also go to the 2013 Runners-Up:
All winners receive specially printed T-shirts featuring their artwork, a trophy and other prizes and their teachers receive certificates for art supplies, courtesy of McDee’s Art Center.
The year marks the 23rd celebration of Salmon Fest. School education days are September 19-20, and family day is September 21, 2013. The many interactive events are always fun and free for all ages.
The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is dedicated to providing high quality natural resource education, promoting outdoor recreation, and sharing the cultural significance of the salmon to the people of the Northwest.
