The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival welcomes back two old friends. Come and hear Mariachi Huenachi, the Wenatchee High School Mariachi Band on the main stage Saturday! We will also be welcoming back the Climb for Fun Climbing Wall…see if you can make it to the top! Both are offered as free activities!
The Wenatchee School District’s Mariachi Program has been Nationally recognized as being the fastest growing Mariachi Music program outside of Mexico, currently integrating over 300 participating students ages 9-18. The program first became popular among Hispanic & Latino students; but every year the program sees increased participation by non-Latino students as well. Thanks to its many local supporters, the program has been able to continually provide access to musical instruments free of cost to all its students.
The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival has hosted the Mariachi Huenachi in the past and we are very glad to welcome them back this year and look forward to this great addition to our entertainment line up. The group, under the direction of Ramon Rivera, is very excited to take part in the festival and will be performing on the main stage at 1 pm. Please join us there to enjoy some authentic, home grown Mariachi Music.
