Icicle Arts and Salmon Fest Partner Up

Recycled Art Show at Barn Beach Reserve

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival cannot exist without its many partner contributions and we are once again happy to be working with Icicle Arts to co-host the Recycled Art Show at Barn Beach Reserve, as well as bring an interactive recycled art project to Salmon Fest.

This year, kick off Salmon Fest weekend with the annual Recycled Art Show at Icicle Arts Gallery, Friday, September 20 from 5pm to 7pm!

Icicle Arts Gallery is located at the beautiful historic River Haus at Barn Beach Reserve, 347 Division Street, Leavenworth.

A Unique Art Show in Leavenworth!

Each year Icicle Arts, led by Managing Director Alicia McKee, produces a unique art show in Leavenworth featuring recycled art pieces that have been made by local and regional artists. A call to artists is sent out months in advance giving them plenty of time to design some very creative ways to re-use and re-purpose all types of objects that would otherwise end up in the trash. From sculptures, collages, jewelry, mobiles, tapestries – you never know what you might find at the annual Recycled Art Show.

The opening reception will take place at Icicle Arts Gallery on Friday, September 20 from 5pm-7pm

Come see what young artists through accomplished professionals have created from their trash; using cantaloupe skins, old keys, feed bags, salvaged doors, a saw blade, a water heater, Volkswagen parts, old sweaters, leather, eggshells and more! Reception will also include a display of local 3rd-graders’ Salmon Festival Poster contest entries, locally made crafts for sale, refreshments and live music.

Then at the Salmon Festival on Saturday, September 21…

…visit Icicle Arts’ booth and learn how to transform old plastic grocery bags into rope, which will then be crafted into a real usable hammock. So grab those plastic grocery bags you have cluttering your kitchen, and bring them to the festival. Each person that donates plastic bags will be entered into a drawing for the finished hammock! All ages welcome to participate!
