2015 Wenatchee River Salmon Festival Poster Contest Winners

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is proud to announce that Ella Jones, a third grade student from John Newbery Elementary, is the 2015 Grand Prize Poster Contest Winner.

Ella’s poster is the new ‘O-FISH-al’ Festival poster and will be used to publicize the 25th Wenatchee River Salmon Festival throughout the region.

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival staff had over 900 entries to choose from in selecting this year’s poster winner. The posters were based on Salmon Fest’s 2015 theme “Salmon Celebration” and were judged on the basis of creativity, artwork and use of the festival theme.

Congratulations also go to the 2015 Runners-Up:

  • Karen McIver (Abraham Lincoln Elementary, Wenatchee)
  • Maddy Black (Osborn Elementary, Leavenworth)

The top three winners receive T-shirts with their poster imprinted on them, a trophy, plus their teachers receive art supply gift certificates. Additionally, all “Best of School” winners receive a medal.

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is a family friendly, national award winning festival held at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery. This year is the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery Complex, and the 25th anniversary of the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival and will be celebrated on Family Day, September 19th, 2015 from 10am – 5pm.

The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, Chelan County PUD, Friends of Northwest Hatcheries and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation host the festival.
