75th Anniversary of Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery Celebrated

Leavenworth, Wash.—This year is the 75th anniversary of the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery! We invite everyone to celebrate our history at the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival, held September 17-19 this year. The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is proud to announce that Ella Jones, a third grade student from John Newbery Elementary, is the 2015 Grand Prize Poster Contest Winner.

2014 Wenatchee River Salmon Festival Poster Contest Winners »

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival staff had a wonderful selection of posters to choose from in selecting this year’s poster contest. Over 780 posters were submitted from 21 elementary schools throughout North Central Washington. The posters were based on Salmon Fest’s 2014 theme “Salmon Adventures” and were judged on the basis of creativity, artwork and use of the festival theme. Read more »

Salmon Fest is proud to announce that Nathaniel (Drew) Carleton was presented with the 2014 Nancy Duree Natural Resource Scholarship.

Drew’s entire class joined him in his excitement as he accepted the $1500 scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding North Central Washington graduating high school senior who is continuing their education in a natural resource field at an accredited college or university.
