The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival staff had a wonderful selection of posters to choose from in selecting this year’s poster contest. Over 780 posters were submitted from 21 elementary schools throughout North Central Washington. The posters were based on Salmon Fest’s 2014 theme “Salmon Adventures” and were judged on the basis of creativity, artwork and use of the festival theme. Read more »

One of the core values of the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is providing high quality natural resource education to our communities. To foster this belief we “pay it forward” by investing in local students who have a passion for natural resources and want to further their education in this field.

Salmon Fest is proud to announce that Nathaniel (Drew) Carleton was presented with the 2014 Nancy Duree Natural Resource Scholarship.

Drew’s entire class joined him in his excitement as he accepted the $1500 scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding North Central Washington graduating high school senior who is continuing their education in a natural resource field at an accredited college or university. Applications for the 2014 Nancy Duree Natural Resource Scholarship are now being accepted.

The annual $1,500 scholarship is dedicated in memory of Nancy Duree who was an active partner in the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival since its inception, and a champion of natural resource education for both children and adults. Read more »

Recycled Art Show at Barn Beach Reserve

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival cannot exist without its many partner contributions and we are once again happy to be working with Icicle Arts to co-host the Recycled Art Show at Barn Beach Reserve, as well as bring an interactive recycled art project to Salmon Fest.

This year, kick off Salmon Fest weekend with the annual Recycled Art Show at Icicle Arts Gallery, Friday, September 20 from 5pm to 7pm! Read more »
