LEAVENWORTH, Washington— The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival will celebrate its 21st anniversary in 2011, and will be held a few weeks later than usual. The festival, held annually at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery near Leavenworth, Washington is moving its venue to September 29-30 (student days) – October 1-2, 2011 (general public days). The 20th Wenatchee River Salmon Festival, a natural resource education event celebrating the return of the salmon to the Wenatchee River, was held last weekend at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery. Despite the downpour, almost 10,000 people participated in the four-day event. Read more »
