Volunteers Make It Happen!

Smokey Bear

When partnerships connect, powerful things happen! One of the festival’s strongest asset is its Volunteer Program. Salmon Festival Volunteers bring a wide variety of skills and energy levels to this special event. Over 500 people donate thousands of hours annually to prepare, plan, and implement all aspects of festival operations. The festival simply could not happen without the help from so many.

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival Team welcomes all who are interested in contributing time, energy, and enthusiasm. Numerous opportunities are available for our volunteers to choose an activity that fits for them. We guarantee you’ll enjoy the chance to interact with festival visitors and other staff, and feel good about contributing to the Festival Mission.

How You Can Help

Festival Days

Thursday through Saturday – We need people to staff activities during each of the festival days. We prefer a full-day commitment, but half-day volunteer commitments are also appreciated. If you have expertise or a special interest in one of the activities specifically, we’ll try hook you up. Otherwise, we’ll place you where needed – such as helping with the Salmon Maze, Gyotaku, the Animal Costume Parade, escorting mascots, grounds maintenance, and more.

Festival Set-Up

People who like to get things set up, or who like a little physical labor, can help us on the Wednesday before the event.

On-Call Helpers

Throughout the year there are various opportunities to help with duties such as mailings, curriculum copying and collation, exhibit setup, brochure distribution to local businesses, and much more. Your name can be added to our list of “on-call” helpers if you’d like to offer a few hours to help with these short-term jobs.
